Introduction

In association with CREA MANAGEMENT, we submitted to the tender for the Design and Project Management of the new offices of the European Union in Bogota. During the design process, we had the opportunity to meet with the different delegates: with guidance from Brussels, in sync with the local delegates from the administrative area, communications, and the HOD (Head Of Delegation of Colombia) herself, we had the pleasure of explore our limitless creativity, with the premise of meeting international quality standards, high technical specifications and rigorous safety.

We enjoyed the whole design process: architecturally, we were inspired by the EU Flag as a graphic element: through the formal decomposition of the Star as a representative element, patterns, grids and textures with diagonal lines and intersections were created, which were applied to the different architectural spaces such as floors, walls, ceilings. A neutral color palette was created, with accents of the colors of the flag: blue and yellow. For the setting, we developed graphic pieces and images inspired by architectural monuments of the different delegations worldwide, a photographs collage was developed for the main circulation areas, and linear graphic pieces in the Frost of the windows of private offices.

It was a very challenging project from the point of view of international and local coordination of various professionals, since having completed our Design part, as a team with the administrative delegates, we assembled a detailed reference document for the Construction tender. Finally, a construction firm was selected to build our design, and for two years, including the start of the pandemic, we were able to successfully conclude this project, which became a benchmark in look and feel for Latin American delegations.

Introduction

The change of brand of the insurance company Royal and Sun Alliance was the starting point for the design of its new offices in the city of Bogota, an image that would later be implemented nationally in all its branches. The basic colors of the new brand: purple and pink, reflect the new innovative, young and cheerful air of the company. Therefore, these colors were applied in some focal points and furniture, together with the design of new desk and workstations and collaboration spaces, which would support the desired organizational change. The new space reflects the organizational culture of collaboration, innovation and connectivity that have become the attributes of the new brand of this insurance company.

Despite being a project recently executed by another company, the client was faced with the need for growth in work stations. Our proposal was to achieve greater spatial efficiency and brand identity with elements that highlight the culture of the region through artisan elements and art work by local artists.

Introduction

Initially, we were contacted to carry out a remodeling of the presidential area, because like the other top management areas, the space was oversized, while the operating areas lacked optimal working conditions for employees, and enough spaces for meetings. After performing an assessment and consulting the areas, we pointed out the poor usage of the three floors, and that the space they had could be reorganized to ensure capacity and better conditions, standardizing typologies according to positions / ranks. With this reorganization, it was possible, not only to comply with the program, but also, to create enough growth positions for each area, the capacity was tripled for meeting and collaboration areas, additionally new areas were created such as: auditorium for 60 people, a large cafeteria, wellness and recreation area, even a 200M2 gym with bathrooms and dressing rooms.

The general atmosphere was handled with clean/bright colors and materials, white, neutral and gray furniture contrasted with blue and turquoise tones that resembled the colors of the sea. Through a brand implementation, it was possible to foster a sense of belonging and teamwork. After this first success case, the same look and feel was replicated in the different branches of the organization nation wide.

Introduction

HarbourVest is one of the world’s leading private equity fund managers, headquartered in Boston. Being the first office in the Latin American region, the design premise was to achieve a space with a transitional and timeless style that reflected the strength and support of the brand, to generate confidence to its investors. To achieve this, neutral tones and warm materials such as wood, wallpaper, clear carpets and rich textured area rugs were specified. The passage of natural light through the glass of the partitions to the private offices and meeting room, as well as to the internal reception area and staff desk, reinforces the feeling of warmth of the space. Decorative elements of handcrafted work by local artisans and Latin American artwork, gave the office a regional touch with high level of sophistication.
