INTERIOR DESIGN – BEST OF OFFICE
Design matters. It can improve a workplace more significantly and holistically than any update to a corporate manual. Not renovated for over a decade, the three-level office of QBE insurance consultants, in Bogotá, Colombia, had become ouldated – ergonomically and culturally. The best way to improve processes, the new CEO decided, was to initiate a total revamp, and he called on Figamma Arquitectura y Diseño Interior to do so.
INTERIOR DESIGN- BEST OF RESIDENTIAL
Open-plan, loft-style arrangements aren’t for everyone. At least, not for this Bogotá-based firm’s longtime client, a globe trotting businessman with two grown children and frequent guests. Figamma steered the client away from the studio he’d initially selected for this Manhattan pied-a-terre, suggesting instead a nuclear multi-bedroom layout that could more graciously host visitors and gatherings.
It is a current trend for architects and interior designers to create spaces with unique personalities. Thanks to this, Figamma, a Colombian interior architecture boutique dedicated to offering its clients creative and tasteful ideas, is imposing its exceptional style on this million-dollar industry.
Generating a sensation of comfort through the furniture and the color palette, and conceiving areas that encourage sharing of experiences with colleagues, are some of the guidelines that the new architectural proposals for offices in Colombia have in common, very aligned with the international trend.
ESTILO DE VIDA 1
“Highly observant and very tactile” is how Luz Piedad Santa describes herself, a woman who works with her senses and understands the personality of her clients to create spaces that transcend aesthetics. She studied Textile Design at the Universidad de Los Andes, taking different subjects such as Color Theory and Art History, which led her to develop great skills in the management of color palletes, textures and materials, where she recognizes her strength. For 20 years, she and her husband, architect Fernando Gonzalez, have been at the head of FIGAMMA, an interior architecture firm focused especially on the corporate sector, offering a careful design based on the needs, tastes and expectations of each client. In short: “An architectural boutique”.

HarbourVest Private Equity Fund is headquartered in Boston with offices in Singapore, Beijing and London. Recently, interested in emerging markets, it opened his Latin American operation with headquarters in Bogota. With a team of three associates, this office receives clients who are looking for solidness and confidence to make their investments. For this reason, the headquarters located in the new banking area (north of the Colombian capital) were carefully designed by Figamma, a company specializing in adapting offices, to convey the strength of a multinational, but with high-end details that give it a local identity.
